Actis Acquires Clean Energy Platform Klara Renewables from CVC DIF

Sustainable infrastructure investor Actis announced the acquisition of Klara Renewables, a 171 MW operating onshore wind portfolio in Poland, from private markets investment manager CVC’s infrastructure strategy CVC DIF.
The transaction marks Actis’ entry into the Polish market and the launch of a new renewable energy platform targeting up to 1.5 GW of capacity across onshore wind, solar PV, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
According to Actis, the acquisition comes as Poland accelerates efforts to reduce its dependence on coal and expand renewable energy generation, with the IEA identifying Poland as among the fastest-growing solar markets in the EU, as well as a significant player in offshore wind.The country is targeting more than 50% renewable electricity generation by 2030 and plans to progressively retire coal-fired capacity through 2040, requiring substantial investment in new renewable energy infrastructure to meet rising power demand from industry and digitalization.
Actis, which was acquired by growth equity investor General Atlantic in 2024, invests in infrastructure assets across growth markets in Asia, Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The firm’s long life infrastructure strategy invests in brownfield infrastructure assets, focusing on operational enhancements that improve existing facilities, preventing the need for deploying large amounts of capital for new infrastructure. This strategy, Actis said, enables investors to benefit from predictable, long-term income with moderate leverage and lower risk.
Klara Renewables comprises six operational onshore wind farms with a combined installed capacity of 171 MW, generating approximately 500 GWh of renewable electricity annually. The portfolio also includes around 275 MW of hybridization potential through co-located solar and battery storage projects.
Actis said the acquisition will serve as the foundation for a broader renewable energy platform in Poland, aimed at supporting the country’s accelerating energy transition and growing demand for clean power. The transaction expands Actis’ presence in Central and Eastern Europe, complementing its existing renewable energy platform, Rezolv Energy, which operates across Romania and Bulgaria, the company added.

The portfolio was acquired by CVC DIF through its DIF VI fund in 2020 and 2021 at the ready-to-build stage. Under CVC DIF’s ownership, the projects progressed through procurement, financing, construction and commissioning into full operation.
