January 6, 2026
Sustainable transition-focused investor Impax Asset Management announced today the appointment of former HSBC Asset Management UK CEO Stuart White to the newly created position of Executive Director, Business Development.
White joins Impax after 15 years at HSBC, including five years as Chief Executive Officer, UK & Global Head of Official Sector Institutions of the firm’s asset management business. Additional roles during his tenure at HSBC included Chief Executive Officer, International, Global Head of Strategy, M&A and Chief of Staff, and Head of UK Institutional. White also serves as a Non-Executive Board Director of the National Employment Saving Trust Corporation (NEST), the UK Government’s workplace pension scheme.
In his new role, White will be responsible for the implementation of Impax’s strategy and business development, and for initiating and managing client partnerships as well as for leading the further evolution of the firm’s systematic equities commercial strategy. Based in London, and reporting to Impax’s Founder and Chief Executive, Ian Simm, White will also sit on Impax’s Management Committee.
Simm said:
“Stuart is an impressive professional, with proven experience in driving profitable business growth and developing strategic partnerships across both institutional and wholesale client segments. His background also makes him an ideal leader to spearhead our strategy to grow our systematic equities product suite, an area where we are seeing increasing interest from clients.”
White added:
“I’m thrilled to join Impax, and look forward to working with Ian and the team on expanding the business, evolving our partnerships with clients and developing investment capabilities. I’ve long admired Impax for its leadership in understanding the transition to a more sustainable economy and its heritage in investment management; it now has a tremendous potential to expand.”
