Job Description:
ALDI is seeking a Sustainability Supervisor – Human Rights to join our Corporate Responsibility team. We are a company dedicated to doing what’s right, not just keeping our prices low. In this role, you will lead a team and work with buying teams, suppliers, consultants, and industry leaders to advance our human rights commitments. The ideal candidate will have experience working on complex human rights issues within supply chains, supporting supplier capacity building programs, and have excellent project management skills. An educational background in human rights and supply chain management is desired.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with team members to make decisions based on sustainability standards, support escalated social and environmental issues, and promote efficient implementation of department initiatives.
– Lead recruiting process and recommend qualified employees for your team’s staff positions.
– Set job responsibilities and performance expectations for direct reports, ensuring mutual understanding of desired results.
– Identify and provide training and development opportunities to enhance performance of direct reports.
– Understand company strategy and model core values to create teamwork and membership among employees.
– Identify recurring issues and provide process improvement suggestions to direct leader.
– Recommend disciplinary actions, dismissals, and promotions of employees in your area of responsibility.
– Propose changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of assigned processes and communicate approved changes to direct reports.
– Provide input on hiring for positions reporting to you.
– Inform management of team milestones, developments, and concerns.
– Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and conduct internal audits as requested.
– Align team strategies with department strategies.
– Ensure proper documentation in your area of responsibility is archived and disposed of at the end of the archive period.
– Provide daily direction, assistance, and communication to internal teams, agencies, and vendors.
– Develop and maintain knowledge of sustainability industry trends.
– Act as a liaison for the Buying department regarding sustainability related issues.
– Supervise day-to-day operations of your team, escalating issues when necessary.
– Ensure direct reports complete assigned responsibilities in a timely and effective manner, providing the highest level of customer service to the business.
– Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Business or a related field required.
– Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in managing human rights supply chain risks is required.
– Relevant ALDI business experience with a demonstrated success is required.
– Equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Physical Requirements:
– Work may be performed in an office, remote office, or a combination of both where a computer and office equipment may be used as needed.
– Regularly required to sit, reach, grasp, stand, and move from one area to another.
– Constantly and repeatedly use keyboard/mouse.
– Occasionally required to push, pull, bend, lift, and move up to 25 lbs.
Travel:
– Domestic travel up to 10% is required.
