Job Description:
The Clark County Department of Environment and Sustainability is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Sustainability and Climate Program Manager. In this role, you will lead the County’s efforts in implementing the All-in Clark County Sustainability and Climate Action Plan. You will also collaborate with other divisions, departments, and external agencies on regional sustainability and climate action initiatives, such as the All-In Home and Building Improvement Hub, electric vehicles, and waste reduction. As the Program Manager, you will supervise, coordinate, and direct a team of professional and technical support staff. Additionally, you will develop and manage community-wide sustainability programs and grants, supervise and coordinate special projects, and provide technical and administrative support to the Deputy Director and/or Director of the Department of Environment and Sustainability on sustainability and climate issues.
Responsibilities:
– Lead the implementation of the All-in Clark County Sustainability and Climate Action Plan
– Coordinate with other divisions, departments, and external agencies on regional sustainability and climate action initiatives
– Supervise, coordinate, and direct a team of professional and technical support staff
– Develop and manage community-wide sustainability programs and grants
– Coordinate and supervise special projects
– Provide highly responsible and complex technical and administrative support to the Deputy Director and/or Director of the Department of Environment and Sustainability
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
– Experience in sustainability and climate action planning
– Knowledge of regional sustainability issues and best practices
– Strong project management and leadership skills
– Ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Experience in grant management and program development
– Knowledge of sustainability programs and initiatives
