Job Description:
Boundless Impact Research & Analytics is seeking a Senior Research Analyst with a background in environmental science or engineering. The ideal candidate will have experience with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and/or Techno-Economic Analysis (TEA). In this role, you will be responsible for performing statistical analysis, creating environmental and financial metrics, presenting findings to customers, and producing recommendations based on the data.
The successful candidate will possess strong quantitative analysis and modeling skills, with the ability to compile, structure, analyze, and interpret large amounts of data. Familiarity with emerging climate technologies such as energy storage, food & ag systems, low carbon fuels, and circular economy technologies is highly desired. Additionally, you should be able to guide users in effectively interfacing with data and analytics to transform a technical process into an intuitive and user-friendly product.
Responsibilities:
– Identify and understand environmental performance through forecasting, gap analysis, and quantitative research
– Conduct data analysis and statistical modeling
– Develop clear environmental and financial impact metrics
– Create and maintain process maps for analytical products
– Recommend improvements to internal workflows
– Oversee data extraction, transformation, and loading
– Create documentation to support database design and functionality
– Conduct scientific research on environmental impacts
– Support Boundless documentation through presentations and reports
– Communicate with customers to address questions and needs
Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field
– At least 5 years of professional experience in research or analysis
– Minimum of 5 years of experience in quantitative data analysis and statistical modeling
– Knowledge of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), TEA, and carbon accounting
– Proficiency in manipulating large datasets with software applications
– General interest in cleantech investing, ESG, and carbon accounting
– Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing
– Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
– Problem-solving skills and ability to apply innovative solutions to data challenges
Location:
This position is full-time and based in New York City but remote work is possible depending on qualifications.
