Job Description:
Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is seeking a talented and passionate Senior Associate to join our team and support the development, implementation, and oversight of our climate and environmental programs. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day project activities related to our green financing strategy, with a particular focus on greenhouse gas reduction. You will also provide subject matter expertise on climate and environmental issues, ensuring that our programs benefit low-wealth communities and community development finance institutions (CDFIs).

OFN is a leading national network of CDFIs based in Washington, D.C. Our mission is to align capital with social, economic, climate, and political justice, and we support our 400+ member CDFIs in driving transformative change in underinvested communities nationwide. We secure private capital for CDFIs through partnerships with leading corporations, financial institutions, and philanthropic organizations, and we provide a range of financial products, services, training, and research to strengthen our members and the industry as a whole.

Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in finance, public policy, public administration, natural resource management, environmental or urban planning, or related fields; or 5-7 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
– Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience
– Proven track record in project management, with project management training preferred
– Familiarity with greenhouse gas reduction strategies and environmental science concepts related to air quality or carbon accounting
– Understanding of environmental regulatory powers and authority of state and federal agencies desired
– Knowledge of ESG reporting frameworks and standards desired
– Experience working within a community-based nonprofit organization or CDFI preferred
– Demonstrated passion for and commitment to environmental justice and social change
– Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
– Strong organizational and time management abilities, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively and efficiently
– Ability to work well with diverse stakeholders, both internally and externally, and to interface with employees at all levels of the organization
– Collaborative team player with a desire to contribute to all areas of our work
– Keen awareness of climate, environmental, and energy issues and the ability to provide subject matter expertise
