Job Description:
Clean Air Council is currently seeking a Seasonal Cobbs Creek Stewardship Coordinator to advance the goals of equitable access to green space and build volunteer stewardship capacity in Cobbs Creek Park in Philadelphia, PA. As the Stewardship Coordinator, you will engage residents through community-inspired programming throughout the park, leading to increased use of the park and trails. This is a field position that requires being outdoors to lead recreation and stewardship activities.
Responsibilities:
– Support stewardship efforts in Cobbs Creek Park, including maintaining the green space and organizing stewardship events.
– Assist in planning and executing stewardship activities such as tree plantings, walks, and work days.
– Serve as an ambassador to promote Cobbs Creek’s green space and connect with residents and park users.
– Coordinate with other Cobbs Creek Park and trail stewards.
Qualifications:
– Knowledge of Cobbs Creek Park and the surrounding region’s trail and transit connections.
– Comfortable with moderate physical labor in outdoor seasonal weather conditions.
– Works well in a team and able to prioritize multiple tasks.
– Strong organizing and oral communication skills.
– Commitment to sustainability and the environment.
Requirements:
– Must be available to work a flexible schedule that may include weekend and evening hours for community events and stewardship efforts.
– Valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
Salary and Benefits:
– This position is part-time and pays $20/hr for 18 hours per week for 6 months.
– Benefits include 401k matching, transit benefits, personal days, vacation days, and paid holidays for full-time staff.
