Job Title: Seasonal Cobbs Creek Stewardship Coordinator
Organization: Clean Air Council
Location: Philadelphia, PA
Schedule: Part-time (Field position with availability for in-person meetings at the Center City office)
Salary: $20/hr, 18 hours/week for 6 months

Job Description:
Clean Air Council is seeking a self-starting individual with a passion for environmental protection and equitable access to green space to serve as the Seasonal Cobbs Creek Stewardship Coordinator. In this role, you will work towards the goals of increasing access to green space and building volunteer stewardship capacity in Cobbs Creek Park, Philadelphia, PA. As the Stewardship Coordinator, you will engage with residents through community-inspired programming, leading to increased park and trail usage.

Responsibilities:
– Support stewardship efforts in Cobbs Creek Park by participating in existing stewardship activities and organizing discrete events
– Assist in maintaining the green space and ensuring trails are safe and inviting
– Develop and implement creative greening strategies inside the park and along the trail
– Recruit more volunteers to participate in stewardship efforts
– Plan and lead stewardship activities such as tree plantings, walks, and work days
– Act as an ambassador, promoting Cobbs Creek’s green space by connecting with residents and meeting park and trail users where they are
– Identify relevant community events, workshops, and activations in Cobbs Creek and support Council staff in attending and capturing stories and experiences of trail users and stewardship participants
– Coordinate with other Park and trail stewards in Cobbs Creek

Qualifications:
– Knowledge of Cobbs Creek Park and the surrounding region’s trails and transit connections
– Comfortable with moderate physical labor in outdoor seasonal weather conditions
– Ability to work well in a team and prioritize multiple tasks
– Excellent organizing and oral communication skills
– Commitment to sustainability and the environment
– Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings, to attend community events and work with residents on stewardship efforts (Driver’s license not required but preferred)
