Job Summary:
Campus and Community Planning is seeking a Research & Program Developer for the SEEDS Sustainability Program. The program focuses on advancing UBC’s sustainability, climate, and well-being commitments through interdisciplinary partnerships, applied student research, and advisory guidance. The Research & Program Developer will be responsible for implementing strategic aspects of the SEEDS mandate, managing research projects, developing partnerships, and integrating operational and academic sustainability efforts. This role requires collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and community partners to achieve program goals.
Responsibilities:
– Manage and execute SEEDS research projects, including participant recruitment, project scoping, execution, and monitoring
– Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
– Develop and implement operational procedures to effectively deliver the SEEDS mandate
– Participate in knowledge exchange activities to enhance SEEDS visibility and engagement
– Provide management and leadership to student and program staff
– Contribute to the overall strategic direction of SEEDS and its affiliated interdisciplinary initiatives
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, with a minimum of four years of related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
– Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is preferred
– Broad understanding of sustainability issues and knowledge of green buildings, energy, and emissions reduction
– Experience in managing sustainability-related projects and partnerships
– Familiarity with post-secondary institutional environments is an asset
– Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information to various stakeholders
– Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience with SharePoint
