Compensation: $70,000 – $85,000 annually + robust benefits package
Position Overview:
The Southeast Sustainability Directors Network (SSDN) is seeking a Program Manager for Georgia to join their Policy Program team. The Program Manager will focus on supporting members in Georgia with state-level energy and climate policy and regulatory issues. This position will involve policy analysis, education and capacity building, facilitating member and partner calls, and supporting engagement efforts such as interventions at the Public Service Commission. The Program Manager will also collaborate with the SSDN Policy Program staff and consultants to support the overall policy work and other state-specific initiatives as needed.
Responsibilities:
– Support the Policy Program team with tracking bills, regulatory activities, and other stakeholder proceedings and communicate relevant information to members
– Stay informed about policy activities in Georgia that could affect members’ work and goals
– Lead ongoing assessments of energy and climate policy in Georgia, evaluate opportunities to engage, and implement prioritized opportunities
– Collaborate with Policy Program staff and consultants to support capacity building for members in state policy and other related areas
– Create and QA/QC written documents, presentation materials, and other work products to support member education and engagement
– Participate in regular check-in calls with the Policy Program team and consultants
– Track activities and metrics, evaluate progress, and contribute to program improvement
– Provide support for funder reports and funding efforts as requested
– Collaborate with the Federal Funding Program to coordinate and communicate on state-based policies and agency actions
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of related work experience
– Sound understanding of sustainability challenges and opportunities in the Southeast, particularly energy and climate-related policy
– Experience working in state energy policy and regulatory environments, preferably in Georgia
– Must be located in Georgia or willing to relocate
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
– Familiarity with applying equity frameworks to sustainability actions and policies
– Experience working with or in support of local governments
– Strong facilitation and communication skills, both written and verbal
– Proficiency in Zoom and other videoconferencing software
– Ability to work in partnership with external organizations while maintaining a safe space for SSDN members
