Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $175,000 – $225,000 (commensurate with experience)

Job Description:
Sustainable Northwest is seeking a passionate, creative, and experienced professional to lead our organization as President. In this role, you will guide our team through our next stages of growth and make a significant impact on nature, people, and local economies. Sustainable Northwest partners with Tribal and rural communities throughout the Northwest on projects that advance forest health, clean energy, and smart water use. Our solutions are unique and include entrepreneurship, policy, market innovations, collaboration, and technical assistance.

As President, your responsibilities will include:
– Carrying and communicating the message and work of Sustainable Northwest to various stakeholders, engaging board members, community members, corporate and government partners, Tribal members, and donors
– Providing vision and strategic direction to the organization, engaging partners, creating consensus, and setting the stage for sustainable growth
– Attracting and stewarding the necessary resources to ensure the organization’s mission can be accomplished
– Fostering stability and planning to support the organization’s structure and long-term viability
– Leading teams and managing relationships with staff, board members, and external stakeholders
– Actively engaging with donors and funding partners to build a viable and sustainable funding model for the organization
– Demonstrating commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization

Qualifications:
– Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage stakeholders and team members
– Strategic thinking and the ability to provide vision and direction
– Experience in fundraising and resource development
– Financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Knowledge of natural resource conservation and a commitment to engaging rural and Tribal communities in the organization’s work
– Experience in helping organizations understand and execute commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion
– A deep passion for conservation and natural resources
