Job Description:
The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) is seeking a Manager of Energy and Building Performance to join their Sustainability Department and help drive developments in electrification, renewable energy, and sustainability commitments. In this role, you will collaborate closely with various MAC departments, tenants, consultants, and utilities to identify and implement new solutions that advance sustainability goals.
Responsibilities:
– Report directly to the Manager of Sustainability and contribute to the development, implementation, monitoring, and measurement of a comprehensive sustainability program
– Lead efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 80% from a 2014/15 baseline by 2030 while maintaining high standards of service and reliability
– Drive progress in electrification, renewable energy, and sustainability across MAC, airport tenants, and state/federal government
– Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement new solutions that advance sustainability goals
– Use strong technical and project management skills to navigate the unique and complex airport ecosystem
– Ensure alignment and integration of sustainability initiatives with MAC’s overall strategy and stakeholder engagement division
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, engineering)
– Strong technical knowledge and experience in energy and building performance
– Project management skills, including coordination of cross-functional teams and consultants
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
– Knowledge of sustainability best practices and trends, particularly in the areas of electrification and renewable energy
– Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks and carbon accounting protocols
– Experience working in airport or transportation settings is a plus
