McDaniel College is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as a Lecturer and Environmental Center Coordinator. This position is ideal for someone who has a background in environmental studies and a strong interest in promoting sustainable practices.
As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching a range of courses in environmental studies, with a focus on introductory courses in the ENV major and the college’s general education program. You will also provide mentorship and advising to ENV majors and minors and create a safe and engaging learning environment for students.
In addition to your teaching responsibilities, you will also serve as the Environmental Center Coordinator. In this role, you will work closely with the McDaniel Environmental Center Governance and Program Committees, as well as other stakeholders, to oversee the coordination and execution of maintenance activities at the McDaniel Environmental Center (MEC). This includes managing vegetation, trail maintenance, physical space maintenance, and coordinating with external contractors for property maintenance needs.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field, as well as experience in outdoor or environmental education. Strong knowledge of sustainable horticultural or landscaping practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed are also required.
