Job Description:
SSDN is seeking a Gulf Coast Energy Manager to lead its new clean energy resilience program in the Gulf Coast region. This position will serve as a key facilitator of technical assistance between technical experts and coastal communities. The Gulf Coast Energy Manager will work closely with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and facilitate the Energy Transitions Initiative Partnership Program (ETIPP) focused on implementing deep energy resilience technical assistance in remote and island communities. The Energy Manager will conduct stakeholder outreach and engagement, assist communities in developing energy plans, and manage multiple projects concurrently while delivering results. This role also involves administrative duties and reporting.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct outreach to rural and coastal communities in the Gulf Coast territory to share opportunities for support with ETIPP
– Assist with the creation and distribution of marketing and outreach materials in collaboration with NREL
– Support planning and logistical needs for meetings with technical assistance recipients
– Lead “Energy 101” educational sessions for communities and assist with content development
– Facilitate the most impactful technical assistance by communicating energy resilience needs from the community to NREL
– Collaborate with NREL to provide technical assistance throughout the engagement period with each community
Qualifications:
– 3-5 years of related experience, ideally in clean energy and/or energy resilience
– Strong interest and/or experience in local government or the field of sustainability
– Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and Zoom. Experience with Salesforce and GIS is a plus.
– Bachelor’s degree preferred
– Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Self-motivated and able to work productively in an unstructured environment
– Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a virtual team environment
