Reporting to: Director of Federal Technical Assistance
Compensation: $70,000 – $85,000 annually, plus a robust benefits package
Position Overview:
The Southeast Sustainability Directors Network (SSDN) is seeking a Gulf Coast Energy Manager to lead their new clean energy resilience program in the Gulf Coast region. In this role, you will serve as a key facilitator of technical assistance between technical experts and coastal communities. You will work closely with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and stakeholders eligible for the Energy Transitions Initiative Partnership Program (ETIPP) services. The Gulf Coast Energy Manager will manage multiple projects, deliver results, and handle administrative duties for the program.
Responsibilities:
1. Outreach and Community Engagement:
– Conduct outreach to rural and coastal communities in the Gulf Coast region to share opportunities for support with ETIPP.
– Attend and assist in delivering in-person and virtual sessions.
– Work with NREL to create and distribute marketing and outreach materials.
– Support the Network Engagement Manager with communications needs.
– Assist with planning and logistical needs for meetings with technical assistance recipients.
2. Clean Energy + Energy Resilience Technical Assistance Facilitation:
– Build and maintain awareness of local regulatory environments impacting clean energy initiatives in the region.
– Lead “Energy 101” educational sessions for communities and assist with content development.
– Assist communities in developing energy plans.
– Collaborate with NREL to provide technical assistance and communicate community needs.
– Share energy resilience research, lessons learned, and data points with stakeholders.
3. Program Management / Other Duties:
– Assist with drafting reports and administrative tasks, such as invoicing.
– Schedule calls, take minutes, arrange travel, and coordinate calendars for community engagement.
– Manage document and data management for the program.
– Enter data into SSDN’s Salesforce database.
– Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications:
– 3-5 years of related experience, ideally in clean energy and/or energy resilience.
– Experience working with ETIPP stakeholders preferred.
– Interest and/or experience in local government or sustainability field.
– Proficiency in MS Office, Google Suite, Zoom, and experience with Salesforce preferred.
– Knowledge of GIS and energy modeling software is a plus.
– Bachelor’s degree preferred.
