Job Description:
Are you passionate about addressing climate change and promoting equity in urban planning? Do you have experience in developing resilience plans and working with local communities? FUSE Corps is seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join as a FUSE Executive Fellow, specifically focused on developing an equity-centered climate resilience plan for the City of Los Angeles.
As the FUSE Executive Fellow, you will play a crucial role in conducting foundational research and analysis to inform the development of a comprehensive climate resilience plan that prioritizes the needs of communities of color and working-class individuals. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and private enterprises, to assess successful strategies and funding opportunities at local, state, and national levels.
This fellowship will provide you with the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of millions of people in Los Angeles. You will work closely with the Deputy Director for Energy and Sustainability and other key stakeholders to establish department-specific directives and goals for energy resilience. Additionally, you will have access to training, coaching, and support from FUSE to ensure the successful completion of your project.
Qualifications:
– At least 15 years of professional experience in climate resilience, urban planning, or a related field
– Strong ability to synthesize complex information into actionable and strategic recommendations
– Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational project management plans
– Proven track record of generating innovative and data-driven solutions to complex challenges
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders
– Strong relationship-building skills and experience working with government agencies and community-based organizations
– Familiarity with California’s legislative process and knowledge of environmental justice and resilience practices are preferred

Note: The selected candidate will be employed by FUSE Corps and embedded within the City of Los Angeles for a one-year, full-time commitment. The annual base salary for this position is $80,000, and Fellows are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance benefits.
