Job Description:
FUSE Corps, a national nonprofit organization, is seeking a talented individual to join their team as a FUSE Executive Fellow. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a strategic project focused on addressing flood mitigation through innovative infrastructure design and urban planning in Jacksonville, Florida.
As part of the fellowship, you will collaborate with the City of Jacksonville and other stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that promote equitable and effective flood mitigation strategies. You will work closely with city officials, community members, and other partners to assess current infrastructure systems, identify areas for improvement, and develop innovative solutions that address the unique challenges faced by the city.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with the City of Jacksonville and other stakeholders to assess current flood mitigation infrastructure systems
– Identify areas for improvement and develop innovative solutions that promote equitable and effective flood mitigation strategies
– Engage with community members to gather input and feedback on proposed infrastructure design and planning projects
– Build strong partnerships with city officials, community organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of flood mitigation projects
– Monitor progress and provide regular updates to FUSE Corps and city officials on project milestones and outcomes
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, engineering, or a related field
– Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure design or urban planning
– Strong knowledge of flood mitigation strategies and best practices
– Excellent communication and collaboration skills
– Ability to work independently and lead cross-functional teams
– Proven track record of driving results in complex projects or initiatives
– Experience working with diverse communities and addressing equity issues in urban planning
This is a full-time position and the fellowship duration is April 22, 2024 – April 21, 2025. FUSE Corps will provide training, coaching, and professional support to help you succeed in your role.
