Job Description:
Green America, a national nonprofit organization with over 40 years of experience in creating a green economy defined by social justice and inclusion, environmental sustainability and regeneration, and healing and repairing our world, is seeking an Executive Editor.
As the Executive Editor, you will be responsible for overseeing Green America’s print/digital green living and consumer content. You will work with teams and departments across the organization to increase the audience for Green America’s content digitally and in print through compelling and thoughtful content. Your strategic responsibilities will include planning and budgeting, integrating content with consumer and supply chain programs, and strategizing how our content and publications serve our organization’s donors. Additionally, you will collaborate with the Director of Digital Communications to maximize audience outreach and engagement and ensure our platforms work together to expand our organizational outreach to the public.
Key Responsibilities:
– Work with the Executive Team to plan strategy and budgets, and ensure content reflects Green America’s voice
– Integrate work with consumers, small green businesses, and supply chains to create content that captures the full range of Green America’s programs and impacts
– Strategize with Membership and Development teams to serve our organization’s donors and promote financial and membership growth
– Collaborate with various teams and departments to promote Green America’s work and oversee content creation for print and digital publications
– Provide strategic direction for the organization’s communications to maximize audience outreach and engagement
– Design content management workflows that can create, edit, and proof content for various platforms
– Develop and implement the annual operating plan and budget, including revenue generation
Skills and Qualifications:
– Excellent copywriting and content generation skills
– Ability to write and edit for a broad range of audiences, from beginners to experts
– Strong knowledge of environmental, social, and racial justice issues
– Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite and its use in content production
– Experience in print publication content, strategy, editing, and production
– Experience in digital content strategy, management, and production
– Project management experience
Education and Experience:
– Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations
– 10+ years of experience in print publication content, strategy, editing, and production
– 10+ years of experience in digital content strategy, management, and production
– 10+ years of experience in project management
