Job Title: Executive Director – Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $120,000 to $130,000

Reports to: Board of Directors

The Coalition of Oregon Land Trusts (COLT) is seeking an Executive Director (ED) to lead a diverse coalition of conservation organizations across Oregon. As the ED, you will advocate for our natural world through statewide policy development and unite land trusts in Oregon to raise a collective voice for our lands and waters. You will shape the strategic direction of the organization, collaborate with staff, board, membership, and key partners, and ensure the continued success of COLT and the Oregon land trust community.

About COLT:
COLT represents a network of 30 conservation organizations dedicated to land trust conservation efforts in Oregon. Our mission is to serve and strengthen the land trust community by protecting wildlife and wild places, providing public access to open spaces, championing clean water for all, and advancing land justice. We are also leading the Oregon Land Justice Project, which aims to expand Indigenous access, ownership, and stewardship of land.

Responsibilities:
– Serve as a leading authority and advocate for land trust initiatives, guiding the coalition’s strategic direction
– Advocate for land trust interests and funding streams at the local, state, and national levels
– Lead fundraising efforts and maintain diversified funding sources
– Support COLT programs, including conservation, communication, Indigenous land justice, and community engagement initiatives
– Oversee COLT’s financial health and manage a dedicated staff of 7
– Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the organization

Qualifications:
– Demonstrated experience working in land trusts, conservation, or related fields
– Understanding of land use policies, environmental regulations, and funding mechanisms for conservation efforts
– Strong leadership, fundraising, and communication skills
– Experience with strategic planning and coalition building
– Commitment to advancing land justice and promoting Indigenous access, land return, and Tribal sovereignty
