Overview:
Bedford 2030 is seeking an Executive Director to lead this grassroots climate action organization in achieving its goals of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and preserving natural resources in the Town of Bedford, NY. As the new Executive Director, you will join the organization in late fall 2024 and provide strategic leadership, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure the fulfillment of Bedford 2030’s mission and goals. You will lead a team of passionate staff and work closely with the active Board of Directors to develop and implement impactful climate action programs. This position offers the opportunity to build on the organization’s strong track record, respected brand, and supportive community.
Job Summary:
The Executive Director will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to Bedford 2030, overseeing daily operations, and ensuring the organization’s mission and goals are achieved. This role involves managing staff, overseeing program development and implementation, engaging with stakeholders, fundraising, managing financial resources, exploring strategic partnerships, and representing the organization externally.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree
– Demonstrated leadership experience in the nonprofit, environmental, or climate action sector
– Passion for climate action, environmental policy, and sustainability principles
– Strong communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences
– Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor cultivation
– Strong strategic planning and problem-solving abilities
– Experience in staff management
– Ability to multi-process and pay attention to detail
Desired Qualifications:
– Reside in or near Bedford, NY
– Willingness to spend time in the footprint of Bedford 2030’s work
Salary Range: $85,000-$100,000 (commensurate with experience)
