Environmental/Sustainable Development Program Manager
Port of Seattle –Seattle, Washington, United States
The Port of Seattle is seeking an Environmental/Sustainable Development Program Manager to join the Aviation Environment and Sustainability Department. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Port of Seattle’s new Sustainable Project Framework at Sea-Tac Airport. You will work towards achieving the Port’s greenhouse gas reduction and energy-related goals by evaluating and implementing new energy technologies and approaches.
Key Responsibilities:
– Lead sustainable energy and building design efforts at Sea-Tac Airport
– Integrate carbon and energy goals into all aspects of capital project development, delivery, maintenance, and operation
– Research and evaluate renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency strategies, and sustainable construction materials
– Identify, research, and evaluate energy and sustainability initiatives for capital development projects
– Analyze feasibility and quantify costs and benefits of potential building energy and infrastructure strategies
– Collaborate with stakeholders to incorporate green transportation strategies, waste reduction, and other sustainable initiatives into capital development projects
– Track project outcomes and monitor impacts to ensure sustainability goals are met
– Provide recommendations and briefings to Port management and Commission
Skills and Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
– 5 years of experience managing environmental, engineering, or sustainability programs
– Knowledge of environmental policy and green building
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
– Experience with energy modeling and systems analysis (desirable)
– Familiarity with environmental certifications such as LEED and Envision (desirable)
The Port of Seattle offers a competitive salary range of $104,603 – $156,894, with offers based on experience and pay rates for similar work at the Port. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility available. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the Port’s sustainability goals and make a positive impact on the environment.
