Location: Washington, District of Columbia, United States
Duration: 3 months (opportunity to extend or secure full-time employment)
Pay: $18/hour
Browning Environmental Communications (BEC) is seeking passionate and dedicated candidates for an Environmental Research and Communications Internship. As the top agency for environmental sustainability communications and consulting, BEC offers a competitive internship opportunity with limited openings.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct research on relevant subjects such as biodiversity, corporate sustainability, and climate policy
– Analyze implications of research findings and contribute to strategic decision-making
– Assist with day-to-day client support, including copywriting, editing, media relations, event identification, and administrative tasks
– Collaborate with U.S. and global client account teams on client projects and initiatives
Qualifications:
– Passion for environmental sustainability and relevant topics
– Strong technical understanding of environmental issues and international policy
– Excellent writing and editing skills
– Ability to work independently and efficiently, meeting deadlines and seeking assistance when needed
– Superb research and analytical skills
– Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
– Bachelor’s degree required, pursuing or holding a master’s degree in environmental science, environmental management, environmental policy, communications, or related fields preferred
This internship is based in BEC’s Washington, DC office and is full-time (40 hours/week) and in-person.
