Job Description:
Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF) is seeking an Environmental Partnerships Specialist to join their team. BEF is an entrepreneurial nonprofit organization dedicated to addressing climate challenges through environmental solutions. As an Environmental Partnerships Specialist, you will work on developing and fostering partnerships with businesses, utilities, community organizations, tribes, and philanthropic partners. Your primary responsibility will be to understand their goals and opportunities and collaborate on solutions that achieve measurable environmental benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
– Act as the content expert on carbon markets, carbon offsets, and emerging industry and carbon technology developments
– Stay updated on Carbon Offset, Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), and Water Restoration Certificate market trends
– Represent BEF in public comment periods on new methodologies, certifications, and standards updates
– Cultivate and maintain new client relationships and sales opportunities, including responding to RFPs and web inquiries, independent business development efforts, and cultivating partnerships with marketplaces, in-kind trades, and certifications such as Climate Neutral, LEED, and B-Corp
– Provide excellent client service, ensuring client loyalty through timely communication and follow-through
– Contribute to marketing strategies, sales, and product improvements
– Provide education about and initial guidance on environmental impact calculations to clients, including greenhouse gas emissions calculations, energy, and water use
– Travel up to 25% of the time for business trips and conferences
Qualifications:
– Demonstrable knowledge of Carbon Offsets, Carbon markets, and evolving developments
– Understanding of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainability industry trends, competitors, sustainability marketing, and communications
– Ability to think strategically and work independently, even under pressure
– Excellent client service skills with a strong motivation to provide exceptional service
– Strong communication and presentation skills to articulate the value of a strategic relationship between BEF and its clients
– Ability to simplify complex topics for decision-makers and customize BEF’s value proposition for multiple industries and decision-makers
– Bachelor’s degree in environmental policy, environmental sustainability, business, or related field, or relevant experience
– 5 years of experience in environmental commodity markets, such as Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) and carbon offsets
– Experience promoting environmental sustainability and/or CSR solutions to business leaders
– Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a timely and accurate manner
Salary and Benefits:
– Salary Range: $90,000-$100,000 per year, depending on experience
