Job Description:
Browning Environmental Communications, the world’s top agency for environmental sustainability communications and consulting, is currently seeking applications for an Environmental Communications Internship. Based in our Washington, DC office, this internship offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced PR firm and gain hands-on experience in PR and communications within the environmental sustainability sector. As an intern, you will be mentored by an experienced Browning consultant and will have the chance to work on a variety of client account tasks, such as copywriting, editing, media relations, event support, and more. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to further your knowledge on environmental topics such as climate policy, biodiversity, and climate finance mechanisms.

Responsibilities:
– Support the team with day-to-day client account tasks, including copywriting, editing, and media relations
– Conduct research into relevant environmental subjects and analyze implications for strategy
– Assist with event identification and support
– Provide administrative support, ensuring internal processes are followed
– Build and maintain award and event lists, recommending appropriate opportunities to target

Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree required, pursuing or holding a master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Environmental Policy, Communications, International Development, Conservation, or related field preferred
– Passion for the environment and relevant topics such as corporate sustainability and climate action
– Strong technical understanding of environmental issues, international policy, and the sustainability landscape
– Excellent writing and editing skills
– Ability to work efficiently and independently, while knowing when to ask for help and meet deadlines
– Research and analytical skills
– Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic team of experienced individuals
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace
