Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $40,000 – $60,000 per year

Job Description:

The Athens-Clarke County Sustainability Office is seeking an Energy Program and Conservation Coordinator to support the Sustainability Officer and the office in pursuing the goals of ACCGov’s Strategic Plan. The primary goal of this position is to transition to 100% clean and renewable energy, creating a sustainable and resilient community that protects the natural environment while promoting economic growth and addressing the needs of marginalized communities.

Responsibilities include:

– Incorporating sustainable goals into community programs and initiatives to facilitate the transition to a more sustainable community.
– Developing strategic goals, policies, and initiatives that promote clean and renewable energy, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
– Assisting all departments and offices of ACCGov in transitioning to a more sustainable government.
– Setting goals and targets for the strategic plan, implementing operational plans and budgets, and gaining support from stakeholders.
– Serving as a subject matter expert and project manager to meet the goals of the strategic plan.
– Creating and monitoring performance metrics for energy and sustainability initiatives.
– Managing the Clean Energy Fund and other energy-related policies and funds.
– Supervising assigned staff and conducting performance evaluations.
– Developing and managing requests for proposals and purchase orders for energy initiatives.
– Identifying and securing funding for energy conservation and sustainability projects.
– Collaborating with various departments and organizations on energy conservation policies and initiatives.
– Collaborating with the public and other entities to promote clean and renewable energy.
– Developing programs and initiatives to achieve strategic goals and build community partnerships.

Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 years of experience in energy efficiency management, renewable energy development, or closely related fields.
– Valid driver’s license.
– Ability to obtain energy or sustainable design certifications within 2 years of hire.
– Experience with geographic and remote sensing software and energy management.
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
– Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
