Salary Range: $110,000-$150,000 per year
Good Energy Collective, a nonprofit research organization focused on developing just and equitable clean energy, is seeking an experienced Director of Operations. This is a full-time, remote position with the flexibility to work from anywhere within U.S. working hours. As the Director of Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities, managing resources efficiently, and implementing strategies to enhance organizational effectiveness. This role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills, a passion for environmental justice, and a commitment to the organization’s mission.
Responsibilities:
– Manage day-to-day operations and develop structures to streamline processes
– Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures to support and empower the team
– Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and expense tracking for fiscal responsibility
– Monitor and evaluate operational performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement
– Implement corrective measures as necessary
– Coordinate payroll and HR platform, including payroll, benefits selection, and handbook development
– Ensure effective administration of day-to-day operations
– Coordinate staff calendars, schedule staff meetings, and prepare agendas
– Track and visualize spending, successful operations, and compliance requirements
– Schedule and coordinate meetings with donors and prepare financial reports for grant reporting
– Develop staffing plans and ensure accountability and performance goals are met
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 6 years of professional experience with a clear track record in strategic planning, managing teams, and HR systems
– Experience with financial oversight and operations management, especially in nonprofit or research institutions
– High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills, fostering inclusion and belonging
– Strong commitment to the organization’s mission and a passion for justice
– Fluency in written and spoken English
