Job Description: Director of Member Services and Operations
Company: Southeast Sustainability Directors Network (SSDN)
Location: Southeast Regions of the United States (AL, AR, LA, FL, GA, MS, NC, SC, TN, and VA)
Position Overview:
The Director of Member Services and Operations will report to the Executive Director of the Southeast Sustainability Directors Network (SSDN) and assist with internal operations strategy and management. This role will be responsible for managing and engaging SSDN’s membership and member services, supporting the implementation of the SSDN Strategic Plan, and coordinating with SSDN’s fiscal sponsor, USDN. The Director of Member Services and Operations will also collaborate with the Executive Director and Senior Executive & Director of Programs to develop strategies for long-term growth and organizational sustainability. This is a full-time, remote position with flexible work hours.
Responsibilities:
– Provide strategic leadership and support to the Executive Director and Senior Executive & Director of Programs in achieving SSDN’s long- and short-term programmatic and operational goals
– Implement SSDN’s Strategic Plan and collaborate with the SSDN Steering Committee and other operations-related committees
– Lead the implementation and measurement of current strategic plan priorities and assist with the development of future strategic plans and external-facing reports
– Oversee the management and engagement of SSDN’s membership, including member prospecting, onboarding, and ongoing engagement activities
– Direct core membership services and partner engagement activities to ensure high levels of network engagement and peer connection
– Manage the development and access of the Member Resource Library and member peer learning opportunities
– Coordinate member surveying and metrics gathering activities
– Develop communications to members and other stakeholders about SSDN’s offerings, membership, and services
– Support the Executive Director with strategy for membership growth and impacts on organizational business strategies
– Maintain relationships with partners that support the organization’s long-term sustainability and growth
– Provide direct support to the Executive Director and Development Director on fundraising and development strategies
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
– Experience with nonprofit leadership and management
– Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
– General understanding of HR functions, regulations, and best practices
– Working knowledge of software platforms, databases, and hardware
– Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
– Strong collaboration and problem-solving abilities
– Experience working in growth-minded environments
