Job Description:
Utah’s Hogle Zoo is seeking a dynamic and collaborative leader to join our team as the Director of Conservation. With a brand new strategic plan focused on expanding and strengthening our conservation program, this is an exciting opportunity to make a lasting impact on Utah’s wildlife and the reputation of our zoo. As the Director of Conservation, you will be responsible for leading the development and launch of our wildlife champions program, growing conservation efforts in accordance with our master plan, and serving as a leader in Utah’s wildlife conservation sector.

Responsibilities:
– Lead efforts to improve air quality and watershed supply through sustainable business practices
– Envision, create, and administer conservation and sustainability programs internally and externally
– Develop and launch the wildlife champions program
– Grow conservation efforts in alignment with the master plan
– Serve as a leader for wildlife conservation in Utah
– Foster collaborations with internal and external stakeholders to achieve conservation goals
– Engage members of the public in community projects and present science-based work to professionals and policy-makers

Requirements:
– Proven experience in conservation leadership
– Strategic thinker and executor with a passion for making a lasting impact
– Strong relationship-building skills and ability to bring teams together
– Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
– Knowledge of conservation practices and principles
– Experience in developing and implementing sustainability programs
– Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and forge new partnerships
– Background in wildlife conservation preferred
