Job Description:
NALCAB is seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Climate and Energy Initiatives to lead our efforts in national climate initiatives, economic asset building, and environmental justice. As the Director, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement new climate policies and programs, drive strategic solutions for net zero emissions and climate resilience, and engage in policy and strategy development related to infrastructure delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and lead NALCAB’s focus on national climate initiatives, economic asset building, and environmental justice
– Direct the implementation of new climate policies and programs
– Drive strategic solutions for net zero emissions and climate resilience
– Engage in policy and strategy development related to infrastructure delivery
– Present professional work at meetings, workshops, and conferences
– Interact with external members and partners, and take the lead on multiple parallel projects
– Exhibit cultural relevancy and the ability to work in diverse environments
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Environmental or Urban Economics, or related fields
– 5+ years of supervisory or program management experience in community-oriented, environmental, and climate initiatives
– 5+ years of experience working in community development, with an emphasis on environmental justice
– Experience with green financing and green-related affordable housing projects
– Strong research and analytical skills
– Excellent communication skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet short deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
– Master’s degree from an accredited university in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Economics, or a related field
– Bilingual in English and Spanish
– Experience working closely and collaboratively with various disciplines, including urban planning, urban design, architecture, transportation, water, environment, and energy
– Experience leading quantitative and qualitative analysis related to sustainability, resilience, equity, public health, public finance, and/or economic and community development
