Job Description:
Tradewater, a B Corp and mission-based project development company, is seeking a Director of Carbon Project Verification & Logistics. Tradewater’s mission is to prevent catastrophic climate change by improving the environment and creating economic opportunity through the collection, control, and destruction of potent greenhouse gases.
As the Director of Verification and Logistics, you will be responsible for managing the movement and destruction of greenhouse gases globally and ensuring that all of Tradewater’s work meets the requirements of carbon offset protocols to be successfully verified by third parties. Key responsibilities include building systems and processes for project validation and verification, managing a network of third-party partners, overseeing the transportation of greenhouse gases, and developing internal capacities for moving gases around the world safely and efficiently.
Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Industrial or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability)
– At least five years of relevant work experience in environmental project management, carbon offset validation and verification processes, or working with carbon offset registries
– Experience working in multiple countries or on international projects
– Fluency or proficiency in at least one language other than English (preferably Spanish, French, Arabic, or Thai)
– Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate technical subject matter effectively
– Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
– Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
– Comfort negotiating contracts and speaking persuasively on behalf of a client or company
– Ability to manage multiple activities in multiple countries simultaneously
– Resiliency and flexibility to adapt to evolving conditions
– Willingness to travel as required to project countries
– Knowledge of and commitment to environmental sustainability and climate change mitigation
