The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) are seeking a Deputy Executive Director of Housing and Energy to play a pivotal role in strategizing the future of housing and energy in the dynamic Bay Area. In this executive-level position, you will oversee the Energy and Housing sections, lead programs, and evaluate the effectiveness of the organizations’ efforts.
Responsibilities:
– Drive transformative change that ensures equitable access to housing, promotes environmental stewardship, and fosters vibrant, resilient communities
– Strategize and navigate the intersecting realms of housing and energy, leading programs like Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA) and Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN)
– Present in public, national, and international forums, providing data, reports, and presentations to interested parties, elected officials, regional partners, and executive team members
– Collaborate with other executive leaders, assess priorities, allocate resources, and lead a team to amplify the impact of every dollar invested in affordable housing and energy sustainability
– Build successful coalitions with other agencies, including state and local governments, nonprofits, labor, and academic partners
– Stay updated on state and federal grant awards, resilience funding, carbon reduction goals, and the regulatory landscape for sustainability efforts
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred)
– At least 8 years of increasingly responsible experience in effectively leading and managing a division or department doing related work, including at least 4 years of senior management experience
– Experience in agency administration, operations, management, or a similar position, including managing administrative support services, budget development and analysis, and presenting to boards, commissions, and committees
– Strong understanding of complex funding sources, housing finance and policy, resilience goals, and the unique barriers to access in the Bay Area and beyond
– Familiarity with regional housing and energy partners and a demonstrated ability to build successful coalitions to advance program goals and outcomes
Salary and Benefits:
– Annual salary of $269,500 – $322,089 DOE/DOQ
