The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) are seeking a Deputy Executive Director of Housing and Energy to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of housing and energy in the dynamic Bay Area. This executive-level position is key to the overall success of both organizations.
As the Deputy Executive Director, you will oversee the Housing and Energy sections, with direct reports, a staff of approximately 20, and an annual budget of approximately $120 million. Both programs are poised for significant growth in the coming years, and you will be responsible for innovative strategies to navigate the intersecting realms of housing and energy.
Key Responsibilities:
– Drive transformative change to ensure equitable access to housing, promote environmental stewardship, and foster vibrant, resilient communities
– Interface with other executive leaders to assess priorities, allocate resources, lead programs, and evaluate effectiveness
– Lead a team that amplifies the impact of every dollar invested in affordable housing and energy sustainability
– Present at public, national, and international forums and provide data, reports, and presentations to interested parties, elected officials, regional partners, and executive team members
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
– Eight (8) years of increasingly responsible experience effectively leading and managing a division or department
– Minimum of four (4) years senior management experience in agency administration, operations, management, or similar position
– Experience in public financing, sustainability, affordable housing, energy efficiency, or community development
– Master’s degree and experience in critical areas such as policy, stakeholder engagement, funding and regulatory landscape, and program management is desired
