Job Description:
The Climate Reality Project is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join their team as a Climate Justice Grants and Scholarships Program Manager. As a nonprofit organization founded by former US Vice President Al Gore, The Climate Reality Project is committed to catalyzing a global solution to the climate crisis by making urgent action a necessity in every sector of society.
As the Climate Justice Grants and Scholarships Program Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing the organization’s training scholarship program. This includes identifying and selecting scholarship recipients, coordinating logistics for their attendance at Climate Reality Project Leadership Trainings, and collaborating with the Engagement Team on post-training programming. You will also serve as the primary liaison for scholarship applicants and recipients, cultivate new scholarship recipients through recruitment strategies, and ensure compliance with regulatory and budgetary requirements.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in nonprofit work, project or event management, or engagement with a focus on climate issues. Familiarity with financial and budgetary processes related to programs or events is preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent organizational and project management abilities, are essential for success in this role. The ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including different personalities and leadership styles, is also important. Travel may be required for this position.

Qualifications:
– 2-4 years of experience in relevant fields
– Comprehensive knowledge of the United States and international environmental justice movement
– Experience in nonprofit work, project or event management, or engagement (with a focus on climate issues preferred)
– Financial and budgetary experience as related to programs or events preferred
– Awareness and appreciation for diversity, equity, and inclusion
– Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, personalities, and leadership styles
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills
– Effective organizational and project management skills
– Attention to detail and adherence to deadlines
– Proficient computer skills (MS Office and database management)
– Self-starter with the ability to identify and solve system weaknesses with creative solutions
– Personal commitment to Climate Reality’s mission and demonstrated knowledge of climate and environmental issues
