Job Description:
The Port of Seattle Environment & Sustainability Center of Expertise is seeking a Climate Change Clean Energy Program Manager. In this role, you will support the Sr. Director and collaborate with the maritime and aviation sustainability teams to address environmental challenges related to climate change and clean energy. As a member of our passionate and dynamic team, you will play a key role in leading groundbreaking and innovative initiatives to decarbonize the maritime and aviation industries.
Responsibilities:
– Conduct policy analysis, research, and strategy development for climate change and clean energy solutions
– Manage projects to facilitate research, development, and deployment of new clean energy technologies
– Coordinate policy advocacy for supportive regional, national, and international policies related to climate change and clean fuels
– Work with environmental teams and government agencies to track legislation, analyze reports, and prepare materials
– Develop port-wide approaches to support the transition to clean technologies and identify common needs and challenges
– Conduct research and lead assessments for clean energy options, new technologies, and funding opportunities
– Respond to internal and external requests for information related to the Port’s decarbonization work
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 6 years of experience in climate or clean energy analysis and research
– Bachelor’s degree in environmental, engineering, policy, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
– Knowledge of climate change, emissions reduction, and clean fuel technologies
– Understanding of state and federal policies influencing transition to decarbonizing the transportation system
– Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills
– Ability to work collaboratively in a team and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Working Conditions:
– Full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility available
– Hybrid remote/in-office work environment at management’s discretion
– Must obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card within the first three months of employment
