Job Description:
Campus Climate Action Corps (CCAC) is seeking 20 enthusiastic and motivated leaders to join our team as Climate Action Leaders. As a Climate Action Leader, you will work closely with CCAC staff, host site supervisors, and community partners to design and implement a Climate Action Plan. CCAC is a nationwide AmeriCorps program through Campus Compact, a coalition of colleges and universities dedicated to advancing the public purposes of higher education.
Responsibilities:
– Collaborate effectively with host site supervisors, community partners, and campus staff and students to design and implement a Climate Action Plan
– Develop community partnerships and leverage volunteers to support CCAC program activities
– Conduct home energy assessments and provide energy conservation strategies to low-income households
– Plan and execute community-driven projects that improve at-risk ecosystems
– Coordinate and facilitate education events in underserved communities to increase awareness about climate change and strategies for reducing energy use
– Complete and submit accurate and timely data reports
– Attend training sessions and participate in career planning activities
Requirements:
– Must be at least 17 years old
– Must be a U.S. Citizen, National, or Lawful Permanent Resident
– High school diploma or equivalent is required
– Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
– Personal commitment to climate action and environmental stewardship
– Motivated team leader with exceptional organizational skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable with public speaking
Preferred Qualifications:
– Experience engaging community partners or college students
– Experience with outreach, volunteer recruitment, or event planning
– Knowledge of environmental education, sustainability, or home energy efficiency
