Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Circular Materials Program Manager to lead and manage industry initiatives aimed at achieving circular material outcomes across RBA member value chains. As the Program Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a circular material strategy, researching emerging circular material issues, and providing expert guidance to member companies. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a wider discussion on standardized ESG practices and environmental due diligence.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with RBA colleagues and members to develop a Circular Material strategy that provides a roadmap for engagement and strategic positioning on current and emerging circular material practices and issues.
– Connect circular material challenges and solutions with other RBA programs, including Responsible Minerals Initiative and environmental topics such as water stewardship and decarbonization.
– Research emerging circular material issues across member value chains and develop actionable best practices, industry capacity building tools, and standards.
– Organize information into professional-grade materials, including reports, trainings, and presentations.
– Engage with external stakeholders and partners to internalize feedback and demonstrate member companies’ commitment to circular material priorities.
– Provide member companies with expert insights and resources to help improve circular material flows and zero waste solutions in their supply chains.
– Occasional travel may be required for attending conferences and events.
Required Skills, Experience, and Abilities:
– Minimum of a master’s degree in a related field or a bachelor’s degree with 3-5 years of direct experience in circular materials or solid waste management issues.
– Strong understanding and interest in circular material principles, including zero waste programs, recycling standards, and secondary material assurance tools.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn additional computer programs or web-based applications.
– Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple complex projects with varying priorities and deadlines.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak about complex environmental topics with companies and stakeholders at an expert level.
– Professional proficiency in English.
Desired Skills, Experience, and Abilities:
– In-depth knowledge of circular material topics, standards, and initiatives, or experience implementing circular material methods and practices.
– Understanding of circular material and recycling standards and best practices.
– Experience in the manufacturing or supply chain industries, particularly within the electronics industry.
– Exposure to corporate sustainability program strategy development and implementation.
– Familiarity with the circular material/zero waste/recycling stakeholder community.
