Job Description:
The Conservancy of Southwest Florida is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader for the position of Chief Program Officer (CPO). The CPO will oversee all program areas to support the organization’s mission of protecting the water, land, and wildlife in Southwest Florida.
Responsibilities of the Chief Program Officer include:
– Directly supervising Program Directors and Education Managers, ensuring activities are aligned with the organization’s mission and values.
– Executing the strategic plan, coordinating inter-departmental goals and objectives, and monitoring program growth and development.
– Collaborating with the CEO, Board, and senior management team to enhance the organization’s conservation design strategy and impact.
– Leading a major fundraising initiative and engaging with donors and partners to secure philanthropic resources.
The ideal candidate for this position will have a background and experience in conservation, environmental science, or education. They should have at least ten years of senior-level management experience in a complex organization and a proven track record of success. Knowledge of best practices and benchmarks in program design and implementation is important, as well as the ability to think strategically and work collaboratively to define the organization’s future strategies.
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, and a master’s degree is desired. The salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $175,000, commensurate with experience. The Conservancy offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid holidays, vacation, group health, vision and dental, and a generous 401k plan.
