Position: Carbon Ranch Initiative Director

Description:
Quivira Coalition, a Santa Fe-based nonprofit that promotes resilience on working lands, is seeking a Carbon Ranch Initiative Director. The Carbon Ranch Initiative (CRI) focuses on implementing evidence-based land management practices to mitigate and adapt to climate change in rangeland systems. The director will be responsible for overseeing the overall success and vision of the initiative.

Responsibilities:
– Manage and direct the Carbon Ranch Initiative team
– Develop and oversee the program’s budget and financial management
– Develop and evaluate program fundraising and income generation plans
– Ensure compliance with external regulations and internal policies
– Supervise and evaluate program staff
– Participate in leadership team activities
– Maintain communication with relevant stakeholders
– Develop and implement programs for education and outreach
– Coordinate with program partners on collaborative grant projects

Qualifications:
– Experience in nonprofit program management, fundraising, and strategic planning
– Strong work ethic, professional demeanor, and team leadership skills
– Understanding of soil health, range and livestock agriculture, and regenerative land management
– Experience providing technical assistance related to soil health and land management
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
– Ability to manage and work with diverse groups of people
– Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the conservation and agriculture sectors

The Carbon Ranch Initiative Director will be supervised by the executive director and will manage a team of 4-5 program managers. This is a full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 – $70,000 annually.
