Job Description:
Oceanic Global, an international nonprofit organization, is seeking a Blue Director to oversee and lead the Blue Standard program. The Blue Director will be responsible for developing and implementing program strategy, business development, and managing the Blue team. The ideal candidate will have a background in sustainability and experience in the hospitality and/or CPG industries. The Blue Director will work closely with businesses to provide scalable solutions for the health of our ocean and our blue planet.
Responsibilities:
– Identify and lead strategic business development opportunities for the expansion of the Blue program globally
– Position Blue as a business solution and valuable opportunity across industries
– Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with brands, vendors, institutions, and coalitions
– Represent Oceanic Global and Blue in speaking engagements, press opportunities, and events
– Lead business and market transformation by generating interest in Blue programs
– Engage cross-industry stakeholders aligned with the Blue mission
Requirements:
– Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Green Chemistry, Material Science, Business, or related field
– 7-10 years of experience in sustainability, hospitality, ocean conservation, or business development
– Strong technical expertise in the realm of plastics, material science, or green chemistry
– Excellent communication and presentation skills
– Strong leadership and multitasking abilities
– Proficiency in Google Suite, AI integrations, Slack, and Zoom
– Passion for creating positive impact and inspiring others to protect our ocean and planet
Location and Compensation:
This is a fully remote position, with a preference for candidates located in New York. Working hours are based on EST or GMT. The salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $100,000, depending on location and experience.
